Thanks to everyone who stopped by at Dwell on Design this year! It was our first year exhibiting (after many years of advertising in Dwell) and our products in Dwell Outdoor were a total hit! We showed two HAVANA sunbeds in various configurations, along with some gray wicker accessories – nestled under a 100 year old olive tree. Our neighbors’ outdoor furniture and accessories complemented our pieces perfectly. We were asked to supply wicker sunbeds for the eco pre-fab available for auction. Our KRISTIN sunbeds were staged with eco-friendly outdoor fabrics, and looked great against the impressive vertical garden behind it!

Known for our high quality Teak and wicker furniture, we have are beginning to being in more high end materials to support your outdoor lifestyle. One exciting new material used in our ‘Starboard’ and ‘Galley’ Director-style chairs is called Batyline.
Batyline mesh is a French made material. It is an extremely durable and high quality material consisting of a polyester fiber covered by a coating of PVC, making it nearly impossible to tear. It is 100% synthetic and resistant to rot and mildew. It is highly resistant to UV radiation and fading, although like all materials left outdoors, slight discoloration is unavoidable over time. The membrane is flame retardant, although the material can melt near a heat source (i.e. from a cigarette burn). It can withstand temperature extremes, ranging from -30 degrees Celsius (-22 Fahrenheit) to 70 degrees Celsius (158 Fahrenheit). Direct contact against heat lamps, lights or other heat sources should be avoided. The flexibility of material is ideal for clients wishing to avoid the need for cushions. Also, its resilient properties make it an ideal material to be near swimming pools or other aggressive environments with chlorine or salt water.
