TEAK WOOD – The obvious answer for outdoor furniture with its resistance to sun, salt water, chlorine, snow & other extreme elements.

TO GREY Teak can be left outdoors without any finish whatsoever, which is the preferred choice of most of our clients. When teak is left with no finish, it obtains a beautiful patined look. However, dirt & grime need to be removed often with a gentle solution of soap and water to keep from becoming engrained. This will keep the wood looking fresh and even-colored. We recommend the use of marine cleaners.

NOT TO GREY Some of our clients prefer to keep their furniture’s natural color. We recommend the use of a marine sealer. Marine products have a UV protection. There are also many companies that can seal your teak for you. Should you decide to do this yourself, make sure the wood is clean and dry before applying any sealer. If you wish to restore old teak that has been grey for years, use an abrasive marine teak cleaner. This will take the wood back to its new state. At that point you can sand and apply the new sealer. There are also tabletop sealers available, which can be applied to your tabletop to stop food and drink stains. These are to be applied to the tabletop only and are also available at marine stores.

Read all instructions carefully and enjoy your teak furniture!
